Knowledge Through International Links
Our activities are not exclusive to only Canada. We are making a difference around the world. Canada is the birthplace of the Model Forest concept (see 'History'). With its positive uptake and impact, it spread globally. Today, there are 60 Model Forests in over 30 countries. Each is working with diverse forest interests to facilitate decision-making. They are also finding answers to problems relevant to their forests and communities.
Our members in Canada are working with Model Forests internationally. Together, we share experiences and knowledge. Countries we are working with include: Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Indonesia, Russia, Sweden, and Cameroon. The Canadian Model Forest Network acts as the link between Canadian and international Model Forests. To find out more about these projects, please contact us.
